The Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World

The Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World were designed and implemented by God the Father to provide order and stability within creation.
They consist of:

  • (codex-1) Creation (natural scientific) Law
  • (codex-2) Physical (human biological) Law
  • (codex-3) Soul (human psychological) Law
  • (codex-4) Individuality (human personal freedom) Law
  • (codex-5) Marriage (one man/one woman in unity) Law
  • (codex-6) Family (husband, wife, children in unity) Law
  • (codex-7) Separate National Entity (society in unity) Law.

The Father has assigned specific distinct responsibilities to each of the four laws (Individuality Law, Marriage Law, Family Law, and Separate National Entity Law) to provide a balance of power within the Adamic (human) race. When each one is functioning correctly, history shows that personal freedom does not manifest itself through anarchy and the nation does not manifest itself through tyranny.

As the Creator-God (cf. Gen.1:1), the Father is the author and designer of all creation (cf. Ps. 8:3; 33:6; 89:11, 12; 102:25; 136:5; 146:6; Isa. 40:21; 44:24; Jer. 10:12; 51:15; Zech. 12:1; Acts 14:15; 17:21; Heb. 11:3; Rev. 4:11; 10:6). The Son, who is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ Emmanuel (cf. John 1:1-2, 14), was the Father’s active agent in creation (cf. John 1:3; Col. 1:16, 17: Heb. 1:10). In conjunction with the Son, the Holy Spirit was also an active agent in creation (cf. Ps. 33:6; Ps. 104:30a). Because God is perfect (cf. Ps. 18:30), all of original creation was created perfect in all its ways (cf. Isa. 45:18). It cannot be denied that since He is perfect, all of His laws (spiritual and temporal) are also perfect (cf. Ps. 19:7). Any problems that exist between the Adamic (human) race and God’s Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World are the result of Adam’s original sin (cf. Gen. 2:17 with 3:1-7). As the result of Adam passing through his genes his sinful nature to all of his offspring (cf. Gen. 5:3 with Ps. 51:5), his original sin was imputed to his entire prodigy (cf. I Cor. 15:22 with Rom. 5:12). Every member of the Adamic human race is born with a nature of corruption (cf. Rom. 3:23) and therefore possesses positional total depravity (cf. Rom. 1:18-25). Unchecked human depravity produces immoral degeneracy (cf. Rom. 1:26-32), moral degeneracy (cf. Rom. 2:1-16) and religious degeneracy (cf. Rom. 2:17-29).

The Father has not abrogated His sovereign right to rule creation (cf. Ps. 103:19 with Ex. 18:11; Ps. 11:4; 47:2; Dan. 4:17, 25; 34, 35). In accord with His over-ruling will, the Father intervenes in history when necessary to keep the Adamic (human) race from going beyond certain divine limitations (cf. Ps. 76:10). The Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World were designed to keep limitations on sin and evil; and therefore prevent the human race from self-destruction. God holds all men accountable (cf. Rom. 14:10 with Rev. 20:11-15).

When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

The Father’s design for the individual sovereign nations was for the nucleus of the each nation to be developed along racial and language ties. Families grew into tribes and tribes developed into nations. The Father’s plan included the geographical boundaries of all nations. When He established the boundaries for the Gentile nations, He took into consideration His plan for the future establishment of the Abrahamic Land Grant as the home of the nation of Israel. The Father had a plan that provided for the assimilation of non-Hebrews into the nation; but with citizenship came their acceptance of the Hebrew culture through acceptance of Jehovah Elohim as their God. The circumcision of the male members of the family signified their commitment to live and die as Israelites. The real issue in immigration is always language and cultural assimilation.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

The Father’s eternal plan includes the division of the eternal new earth into national entities and those who rule them will come and go from Christ’s capital city, the New Jerusalem. While this concept seems to shock a lot of Christians, we have never understood why. After all, the Father’s plan called for a high system of organization among the holy-elect angelic spirit beings (cf. Eph. 1:21, Col. 1:16; 2:10). Why should not His eternal plan include a highly organized system of eternal government for the redeemed? Let us always remember that God is a God of order (cf. I Cor. 14:33). One of the things that will make eternity so wonderful for every believer is the fact that we will be free from sin and all of its ramifications. We will be able to enjoy God and all of the grace blessings He will bestow upon us and be able to praise Him and thank Him for all of them. Since God designed independent sovereignty entities for the good of the Adamic race (cf. Genesis 10:5, 20, 31, 32; Deut. 32:8), then we need to recognize they are a grace gift from God (cf. Jam. 1:17). Christ will one day rule over all the nations of the earth and since He is sinless and perfect this rule will produce only divine good things (cf. Rev. 20:6b with Zech. 14).

In order to have a clear and just conception of the nature and object of government, it is indispensable to understand correctly what that constitution or law of our nature is, in which government originates; or, to express it more fully and accurately that law, without which government would not, and with which, it must necessarily exist. Without this, it is as impossible to lay any solid foundation for the science of government, as it would be to lay one for that of astronomy, without a like understanding of that constitution of law of the material world, according to which the several bodies composing the solar system mutually act on each other, and by which they are kept in their respective spheres. The first question, accordingly to be considered is what is the constitution or law of our nature, without which government would not exist, and with which its existence is necessary?

In considering this, I assume, as an incontestable fact, that man is so constituted as to be a social being. His inclinations and wants, physical and moral, irresistibly impel him to associate with his kind; and he has, accordingly, never been found, in any age or country, in any state other than the social. In no other, indeed, could he exist; and in no other were it possible for him to exist could he attain to a full development of his moral and intellectual faculties, or raise himself, in the scale of being, much above the level of a brute creation.

We are all societal by our own nature. The desire for fellowship with others was placed there by our Creator-God and makes possible our spiritual desire to fellowship with the Father, the Son (cf. I John 1:3), and the Spirit (cf.Phil. 2:1; II Cor. 13:14).

The Father designed His Law of Individuality to provide the basis for each one of us to develop our own full spiritual life potential (cf. Jer. 1:4, 5; Isa. 49:1, 5; Lu. 1:15; Gal. 1:15, 16), as well as our own temporal life potential, so that we can fulfill our own personal individual spiritual life destiny and temporal life destiny (cf. Eph. 1:11, 12). So that we could understand love and intimacy to the fullest extent, He designed the Law of Marriage (cf. Gen. 2:18-25 with Matt. 19:5; Mk. 10:6-8; I Cor. 6:16; Eph. 5:19-33). When a man and a woman marry, they still maintain their own individuality. However, the institution of marriage provides the opportunity for each one of them to limit their own personal desires and utilize their volition to make decisions that are in the best interest of them collectively instead of individually. Adam and Eve failed this test and thus Adam introduced sin and its consequences into the Adamic race (cf. Gen. 3:1-19 with I Tim. 2:13-15). The Father designed the law of Family for the perpetuation of the human race (cf. Gen. 1:27, 28 with 2:25; 4:1; 5:1-32). This law institutes parental authority and parental responsibility (cf. Prov. 22:6; 19:18; 29:17; Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21; Gen. 18:19; Deut. 4:9; 6:7, 20; Ps. 78:4). This law also includes a child’s responsibility in regard to his parents (cf. Prov. 23:22; Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16; 27:16; Ezk. 22:17; Mal. 1:6; Mk. 7:10; Eph. 6:1-3; Col. 3:20).

While these laws interlock, they each have their own distinct areas of responsibility. Therefore, it is essential that they be considered as co-equal and designed to produce a balance of power within society. The same is true in regard to the law of Separate National Entities. The law of individuality (volition + privacy + responsibility + property rights + accountability) is the basis for personal freedom. Under the law of Marriage (one man and one woman’s contractual commitment to each other) they utilize their personal freedom to make volitional decisions that are in the best interest of protecting and prospering their marriage. In marriage, both the husband and the wife benefit from their marriage partner’s commitment to the institution of marriage. Their love for each other produces the motivational virtue to honor their marriage partner in their decision making. This produces the functional virtue to work at making their marriage a success. Marriage responsibilities automatically place moral as well as contractual limitations on the exercise of personal freedom. However, personal freedom’s need for people to make responsible decisions is the foundation upon which good marital decisions are made. When personal freedom is used to make poor decisions in marriage, the law of Individuality’s Accountability automatically produces judgment. On the basis of how we utilize our personal freedom to make decisions, we sow and reap blessing or cursing in marriage, in family life, and in national life. When the Father blesses a family with children, family life responsibilities automatically place moral limitations on the exercise of personal freedom. Marriage includes the moral responsibility to consider the best interest of marriage over individual interest. Family includes the moral responsibility to consider the best interest of children over individual interest and marital interest. Marriage and family are designed to protect the Adamic race from the selfish abuse of freedom.

The Father provided through His Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World a balance of power between Individuality (cf. Gen. 2:7-20), Marriage (cf. Gen. 2:21-25), Family (cf. Gen. 4:1-5), and National Government (cf. Gen. 4:17-24 with 10:1-11:9). It takes two people (a man and a woman) to make a marriage. It takes three people (a man, a woman, and a child) to make a family. The history of nations is the history of families growing into tribes and those tribes developing into nations (cf. Gen. 10). Individuality is the key to stability in marriage, family, and national life. On an individual basis, when people make good decisions they stabilize and strengthen their marriage, their family, and their nation. When a maximum number of people within a nation adhere to the Father’s laws of Divine Establish for Temporal Living, through personal freedom they guarantee human freedom. Human freedom guarantees privacy and property rights. Life, liberty, and property rights are essential to the pursuit of happiness. When the husband and wife have personal happiness, then their marriage is blessed with happiness; and this overflows into family life and national life.

Every nation needs to recognize the value it receives when it does not usurp the law of Individuality and does not violate the principles of personal freedom. When a nation does not interfere with personal freedom, it provides an environment for its citizens to have stability in their marriages and in their families.

The Father’s plan for separate individual sovereign national entities was to prevent the establishment of a one-world order (cf. Gen. 11:1-9). The Father designed nations to protect their citizens from external enemies (cf. Gen. 14:1-24; Neh. 4:1-23) and from internal crime and violence (cf. Rom. 13:1-7). The Father is not is the author of sin and evil (cf. Jam. 1:13-15). Therefore, the Father did not and will not authorize governmental tyranny. The Father’s Laws of Divine Establishment for Temporal Living in the Material World are for believers and unbelievers alike. We base this conclusion upon the fact that all believers and unbelievers are individual people and that they are free to marry, have families, and be citizens of a nation. Therefore, the Father designed them to function under all systems of Government! The Hebrew people first lived under a patriarchy (cf. Gen. 12:1-50:26). Then under executive rule (cf. Ex. 12:37-18:13), a monarchical-republic (cf. Ex. 18:13-Josh. 24:33), a tribal confederation (cf. Judg. 1:1-I Sam. 8:22), and a monarchy (cf. I Sam. 9:1-II Chron. 36:23). The issue is always how much freedom the rulers allow their citizens and how much responsibility their citizens are willing to take in regard to individuality, marriage and family life. The issue is not sovereignty but power sharing.

Seventeenth Century England was a great debating ground for the argument concerning the issue of national sovereignty. King James I wrote The True Law of Free Monarchies and Basilikon Doron (1598) to explain and defend the so-called doctrine of the Divine Right of Kings. Following the execution in 1649 of his son, Charles I, England claimed to be a commonwealth; but in reality it was a military dictatorship under Gen. Oliver Cromwell and then under Gen. George Monck. Following the restoration of the Stuart kings, under Charles II, the issue of how to divide national sovereignty continued to be the issue. When James II was removed from the throne and replaced by William and Mary of Orange (1689-1702), England shifted to parliamentary (legislative) sovereignty. William Blackstone in his Commentaries on the Laws of England (1765) Vol. I became the greater defender of parliamentary law. England was ruled by kings (executive rule), generals (military rule), and the parliament (legislative rule). Under the monarchy, the Court of King’s Bench held tremendous judicial authority in the interpretation of law and often ruled in direct opposition to historical Anglo-Saxon Common Law. The judges utilized their power to support the executive dictatorship.

The American Revolutionary War was actually against parliamentary rule, as the Parliament held the primary power and not King George III. They were the ones who passed the Stamp Act, the Declaratory Act, and the Townshend Act. It is important to understand that in every government some of the sovereignty is shared because the power is shared. The issue is who holds maximum power. The United States of America began as Confederation (1776-1789) and then became a Confederated Federal Republic. Under the Constitution, the Federal Republic was granted limited sovereignty, and this sovereign power was divided between the legislative (Congress—Article I), executive (President—Article II), and judicial (Supreme Court—Article III). All other sovereign power was granted to individual confederated states (Article IV with Amendment 10).

This Constitution and the laws of the United States that shall be made in pursuance thereof, and all of the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary not withstanding

The highest law in our land is the U. S. Constitution. Therefore, as believers, we are under a legal obligation to submit to its authority. We are under no moral obligation to obey a non-Constitutional law but disobedience could bring legal ramifications. Many people waste time arguing non-essential laws. Because we are accountable directly to God for all of our actions, the real issue for believers is to study and know the Word of God.
